circVIS:: Visual presentation for circRNAs :: |
|
Where does a circRNA's ORF land on the parental protein - and where does the circRNA itself sit in the cell?
Type in a gene symbol above and circVIS lines up any circRNAs it produces against their closest matching transcript, then checks whether the back-splice junction still reads into a usable open reading frame. If it does, you'll see exactly which domains of the parental protein that ORF overlaps.
Most circRNA tools stop at sequence - binding motifs, IRES elements, that kind of thing. circVIS also tells you where each circRNA isoform was actually detected, across four subcellular fractions:
Two isoforms of the same gene can localize completely differently - which is usually the more interesting story than the sequence alone.
